What happens to your data
Life OS is a calm home for personal things: tasks, routines, mood, notes, the people in your life. Here's the honest version of how that data is handled during the beta. Plain language, no fine print.
It's yours, and it's private to your account
Everything you put in is stored against your own account. Other testers cannot see any of it. Accounts are fully separated. You can download a complete copy anytime from Settings → Your data, and you can ask to have your account and all its data permanently deleted.
One person runs this beta, and can technically see the data
Life OS is self-hosted and operated by one person. Because they run the server and database, they can technically access what's stored, the way any small self-hosted service works. They won't go looking, but you should know it's possible. So during the beta, please don't store anything you'd be uncomfortable having on someone else's server.
AI features send content (you can turn it off)
When you use the AI features (capture triage, natural-language add, day-scheduling, chat), the relevant text is sent to an AI model to generate a response. You can switch AI off entirely in Settings, Privacy and data: from then on nothing you write is sent to a model, and the rest of the app keeps working with its plain, built-in behaviour.
Anonymous usage analytics (you can turn it off)
To find and fix rough edges, Life OS records anonymous usage: which screens and features you open, on what kind of device (desktop or phone), roughly when in the day, and where something errors or feels clunky. It never records what you write, your tasks, notes, messages, searches, and the names of people you track all stay private and are never part of this. It helps spot problems before they spread. You can switch it off anytime in Settings, Privacy.
Email and sign-in
Your email address is used to sign you in and to send account-recovery links (delivered via Resend). It isn't used for marketing.
It's a beta: expect rough edges
The app is early and changing quickly. Bugs happen, and data could be reset while things stabilize. Keep your own copy of anything important (that Export button), and tell us what breaks: there's a feedback box in Settings.
